driving or flying?

For all our tournaments, we plan to drive to the tournaments- except for Red Rock Rave (17s and 18s) which we will fly to. Players are discouraged to drive themselves, WWVA is looking for volunteer drivers that can carry 4+ athletes to their tournaments to avoid that from happening. All drivable tournaments, we will meet at Starbucks to caravan over to our destination.

Hotels

Hotel rooms will be booked in blocks. These will be posted 3-4 months prior to the event. The blocks will expire so it is imperative that payment is received in a timely manor. Families will pay the club directly the portion of the hotel cost based on the number of players assigned per room. If families do not want their daughter sharing a room, the family will book on their own within the same hotel block.

Example: Lincoln hotel is $250/night for 2 nights and 4 athletes share a double queen- it would be $125/ per player rather than $500.

To encourage leadership skills, the captains for 15s-18s will be responsible for waking up the team rooms for breakfast. The 10-14s will turn in their phones and the team parent/ coach will be responsible for wake up call.

Room checks will be done every night at 9pm. If a player is caught outside of their room or a non-WWVA person is caught in the room, there will a meeting for the potential of expulsion or removal of participation in travel tournaments.
